Lester Leon Davis

Mr. Lester Leon Davis, age 89, resident of Southport Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, November 12 at his home after an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Donald Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard.
The family will visit with friends Monday, 5:00 until 8:00 PM
and Tuesday from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late John King and Nellie Mae Jones Davis. He was the widower of the late Elizabeth Morgan Davis. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the United States Navy, retired from Farmers Construction Company where he was a dragline operator, Vice President of Richard L. Davis Trucking. He attended Hay Long High School and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include six daughters and a son, Carolyn Donald Paul of Columbia, TN, Jane Featherling of Hermitage, TN, Cleon Bobby Clayton, Janet Stanley Norman, Richard L. Davis, and Sheila Donald Ledford all of Mt. Pleasant and Debby Dennis Fitzgerald of Columbia, TN; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, Tim Diane Paul and Landon, Kenton and Houston of Mt. Pleasant, Penny Ricky Waters of Culleoka, TN, Tara Mike Hunter and Haley of Mt. Juliet, TN, Taina Ron Kilduff and Zachary and Erica of Hermitage, TN, Tod Mary Featherling, Emma, Laura and Chase of Brentwood, TN, Shana Brent Haywood and Paxton of Memphis, TN, Michelle Petey Runions and T.J. Brown, Mason Brown, Charlie Runions and Sametha Runions of Hohenwald, TN, Kenny Polly Norman and Harley Norman of Mt. Pleasant, Jessica Ledford of Mt. Pleasant and Justin Fitzgerald of Cookeville, TN.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Wesley Paul and great-granddaughter, Marranda Brown, five brothers, Cecil, John Herbert, Lewis, Marvin and Raymond Davis; one sister, Louise and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Davis, George Davis, John H. Davis Jr., Terry Davis, Mike Davis, Timmy Davis and Larry Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be past employees of Farmers Construction and Ted Sisco.
