Mr. Lester Brown, age. 97, a resident of Glass Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, October 30, at Hidden Acres Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dickie Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Blowing Springs Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Born in Maury County on December 23, 1911, Lester was the son of the late Willis F. Brown and Mary Lindsey Brown. He was the husband of the late Gladys Alexander Brown who preceded him in death in 1990. He loved fishing and farming and had a special love for his children and all of his grandchildren. Lester was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his children: Willodyne Odom of Mt. Pleasant, James Kathy Brown of Mt. Pleasant and Judy James Boshers of Goodlettsville; three sisters: Rachel Scott, Ruth Finley and Mildred Davis, all of Nashville; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 36 great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Ada Taylor of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by two children: Lucille Estes and Johnny Brown; four brothers: Bill, Charlie, Joe and Richard Brown; two sisters: Alice Staggs and Artie Scruggs; four grandchildren: Andy Brown, Mark Brown, Anthony Boshers and Arnold Estes and a great-grandchild: Miranda Michelle Brown.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Finley, Lester Finley, Terry Boshers, Phillip Brown, Greg Brown and Bradley Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and residents of Hidden Acres Nursing Home and the staff of First West of Maury Regional Medical Center.
