Mr. Leslie Washington Eley, 80, a resident of 5th Avenue in Riverside, died Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Eley will be conducted Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Wayne Hardison and Michael D. Greene officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Marshall County native was the son of the late James Alerston and Evie Ann Collins Eley. He was the husband of Edna Dennis Eley. He was retired owner and operator of Eley?s TV Service and Sales and was formerly associated with Hardcastle Motor Company for 26 years. He was a member of the North View Church of Christ and former member of the Columbia Rotary Club. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Dan Jaynes of Columbia, TN; three grandchildren, Ross Eley Jaynes, Elaine Danielle Jaynes, and Ronda Ann Eley all of Columbia, TN; a daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Eley of Columbia, TN; a sister, Anne Glenn of Franklin, TN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dennis Eley; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Dan Jaynes, Ross Eley Jaynes, Allen Still, Gerald Glenn, Mike Deaton, and J.T. McElhaney. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Primm, Jimmy Merritt, Dr. Darrel Rinehart, and elders and deacons of North View Church of Christ.
