Leroy Owens

Mr. Leroy Owens, age 77, a resident of S. Main Street in Columbia, was born February 26, 1934 in Giles County, TN. He was the son of the late William Thomas Owens and Daisy Mae Stofel Owens. Leroy was the husband of Annie Mae Rogers Owens of Columbia. He was a self employed roofer. Leroy loved watching football and baseball, liked to fish and deer hunt. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife Annie Mae, include his children: Danny Ray Owens of Columbia, Terease Ann Owens of Columbia, and Sandra Craig Pedrick of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Justin Clark, Brittney Owens, Levi Owens, C.J. Pedrick, Haley Owens and Dustin Pedrick; great-grandchildren: Leelan Clark and Taniya Owens; one brother: William Billie Owens of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters: Lucille Vick and Mary Casteel, both of Columbia and a sister-in-law: Shelby Jean Owens of Culleoka. In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by three brothers, George Butler Owens, James Michael Owens and Robert Owens and two sisters: Christine Parker and Martha Lou Owens.

Leroy passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011, at Signature Health Care.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Owens, Tommy Owens, David Parker, Bobby Parker, Craig Pedrick, Dennis Owens. Ronnie Vick and Roy Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gibran Naddy and the staff of Signature Health Care.
