Mrs. Leora Ashburn Woodward, 92, a resident of Florida Ave. in Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, October 12, 2003 at Hidden Acres Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services for Mrs. Woodward will be conducted Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Vernon Brooks, Ed Brown and Hueston Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Born in Baxter, TN, she was the daughter of the late William and Myrtle Herd Ashburn and wife of the late Boyd Woodward. She was a homemaker and a member of the Beech Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Vernon Brooks of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, William E. Woodward of Knoxville and James O. Nell Woodward of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Harold L. Woodward; a daughter-in-law, Betty Woodward; three sisters, Dorothy Ashburn, Creola Cooper and Claudia Huddleston.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Brooks, Chris Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Michael Woodward, John Remine, Lewis Cooper, Robert Dennis and Bill Varnado. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Beech Hill Church of Christ.
