Leonard "L.W." Byrd, Jr.

Mr. Leonard ?L.W.? Byrd, Jr., 71, a resident of Rolling Fields Circle in Columbia, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Byrd will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Ronnie Frazier and Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the Leonard W. and Minnie Wiseman Byrd and husband of Sue Duberry Byrd. He was the former owner of Byrd Insulation of Mt. Pleasant from 1983 until 1991 and manager of Johnson Insulation for 23 years. He was a member of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Laray Rector and Karen Ricky Thompson, both of Columbia; four grandchildren, Amber Leigh Thompson, Tara Beth Thompson, Evan Laray Rector and Alex Leonard Rector, all of Columbia; several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Evan Rector, Alex Rector, Austin Simmons, Nathan Owens, Bobby Norman, Jim Webb and Joe Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders and members of Sandy Hook Church of Christ, Wendell Robinson, John Vaughn, Dr. Steve Simmons, Dr. Amit Choksi, Harold Wood, William Pigg and Dr. Rob R. Hood.
Memorials may be made to the Sandy Hook Church of Christ Building Fund.
