Leonard Edward Lowe, Sr.
April 23, 1918 — July 25, 2006
Mr. Leonard Edward Lowe Sr., 88, a resident of Mt. Joy Road in Hampshire, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Lowe will be conducted Sunday, July 30, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Glass Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant with Randall Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 until 9:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Born in Centerville, he was the son of the late Lee and Mary Mayberry Lowe and husband of the late Ollie Augustus Claude Lowe and the late Belinda Owen Lowe. He was a retired crane operator at Arrow Mine and a devoted faithful member of the Glass Street Church of Christ for many years.
He is survived by four daughters, Mildred Church and Ann Fitzpatrick, both of Columbia, Marjorie Vester and Reba Gayle Frierson, both of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Halmon Shirley Lowe of Nashville; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ollie Monnette Havis; a son, Leonard E. Lowe, Jr.; three brothers, Glenn Lowe, Raymond Lowe and Howard Lowe and four sisters, Hattie Lowe, Lillie Mitchell, Tenni Lowe and Jenny Lowe.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Lowe, Harold Church Jr., Anthony Rae Frierson, Garland Fitzpatrick, Jeremy Frierson, James Fitzpatrick, Nelson Grandberry and Kevin Grandberry. Honorary pallbearers will be the brothers of the Glass Street Church of Christ and flower girls.
