Mr. Leo Fredrick Holloway, age 83, a resident of Flint, Mi, passed away on March 18, at the Kith Haven Nursing Home in Flint, MI.
Funeral services for Mr. Holloway will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
The Mt. Pleasant native was born June 20, 1926, the son of the late Huey Thomas and Eura Yarborough Holloway and the husband of Rhoda Mealy Holloway of Flint, MI. Leo was the former minister of Temple Baptist Church in Detroit, MI and was a salesman for Dewolf Studio in Redford, MI. He was a person who always put others before himself, was always helping those in need and was supportive of numerous missions. Leo was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Flint and a US Navy veteran.
He is survived by his children: Rick Jennifer Holloway of Columbia, Katherine Bowen of Stanwood, MI, Martha Valley of Flint, MI, Linda Hamer of Washington, Peggy John Bird of Boise, ID and Pat David Walker of North Carolina; sister: Jeweldine Cheatham of Stiversville; 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers: Huey Thomas "Junior" Holloway, Ealon Holloway, Ferrell Holloway and Vernon Holloway.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
