Lena "Ophelia" G. King, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 81. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, TN, on March 7, 1942, to Charlie Denton and Lillie Francis Graham.
Ophelia had a passion for sewing and using her talents to create blankets that she would generously donate to various charities and her loved ones. She found joy in giving back to her community through her craft. She was a nurturing soul who adored her children and cherished her animals.
While pursuing her nursing education, Ophelia managed to raise her children and remain actively involved in their lives. She was a dedicated mother who always prioritized her children's well-being and happiness. Ophelia attended every sporting event, took them camping, and spent quality time playing games with them. Her unwavering love and support created lasting memories for her family.
Ophelia’s dedication and hard work paid off as she obtained her Associate'segree in Sociology from Columbia State. She subsequently pursued a career in nursing and social work, making a positive impact on the lives of many. Her compassion and genuine concern for others earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and those she served.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Ragland of White House; her son, Tim (Lorie) King of Bon Aqua; her daughter, Lynn (Bill) Jackson of Duck River; her son, Todd King of Duck River; her daughter-in-law, Judy King of Nolensville; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Ophelia’s legacy lives on through her extensive family.
Ophelia was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Denton and Lillie Francis Graham, as well as eight sisters, six brothers, her husband Robert "Bobby" Edward King, to whom she was married for 52 wonderful years before his passing, and her son Tony Edward King.
The family has entrusted Williams Funeral Home with the arrangements for her final journey. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 1st, at 3:00 PM at Arlington Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, where Ophelia will be laid to rest. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Lena "Ophelia" G. King will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a loving mother, doting grandmother, and caring friend who touched the lives of many. May she rest in eternal peace.
