Lee James Mesler

August 24, 1950 — February 6, 2009

Mr. Lee Mesler, age 58, a resident of Brooks Hughes Road in Ethridge, passed away on February 6, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Mesler will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Paul Thompson and Rev. Howard Kitter officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 1:00 -9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Niagara Falls, NY, native was the son of the late William Ernest and Isabelle Louise Cutler Mesler and had moved to Columbia at the age of two. He was the husband of Kimberly "Kim" Doan Mesler of Ethridge whom he married on January 6, 2001. He was the department head of social services with of Life Care Center in Columbia. Lee loved sports and especially enjoyed family and friends coming over and watching football. He was of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Ashley Marie Hollingsworth of Bartlett, TN and Christopher Lee Mesler of Ethridge; step-children: Brandon Tabitha Shumate of Mt. Orab , OH, Kyle Edward Shumate of Ethridge, and Sarah Marie Shumate of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren: Nicholas Hunter Hollingsworth of Bartlett, Addison Mae Shumate of Ethridge and Maggie Peyton Mesler of Ethridge; one brother: William Anna Jo Mesler of King, NC and one sister: Jo Anne Frank Maddux of Spring Hill; nieces: Janna Mesler of King, NC and Cara Richie Chadwick of Tullahoma and one nephew: Will Mesler of Florida.

Pallbearers will be Jake Johnson, Daniel Wiley, Will Hutton, Dave Prince, Keeton DeMoss, Timothy Vincent and Keith DeMoss. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith and employees of Life Care Center in Columbia.
