Mrs. LaVonna K. Smith, age 59, a resident of Ashwood Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, February 17, at her residence..
Private services will be held at a later date. Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Battle Creek, MI, she was the daughter of Mrs. Hazel King Rogers of Battle Creek and the late Vernon C. Rogers. She was the wife of Larry J. "Joe" Smith of Mt. Pleasant, whom she married on September 9, 1968. Mrs. Smith was a customer service representative for American Bank Note in Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include her children: Heidi L. Durham of Kalamazoo, MI and Christian J. Smith of Tempe, AZ; grandchildren: Paige Koning, Kayla Koning, Denny Durham, III, Carter Durham and Tate Durham, all of Kalamazoo, MI; two sisters: LaNeta VanDenOver and LaSondra Weatherhill, both of Battle Creek, MI and two brothers: Kim Rogers and Keith Rogers, also of Battle Creek, MI. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a brother: Kyle Rogers.
Memorials may be made to the Main Street Church of Christ, 210 N. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474 or to the First Baptist Church, 407 South First Street, Pulaski, TN 38478.
