Laura Clark Watters

Mrs. Laura Clark Watters, 84, a resident of Birchwood Drive in Columbia died Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at NHC/Hillview.
Funeral services for Mrs. Watters will be conducted Friday, November 19, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parkway Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Elizabeth Brewer Clark. She was the widow of Bennett Watters. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High Class of 1937 and graduate of Columbia Business College. Mrs. Watters was a bookkeeper for J. Frank Walker, Trustee?s office for 12 years with James Taylor, Middle Tennessee Bank for seven years and Southway Auto Sales. She did tax returns for the public. Mrs. Watters was the oldest member of Parkway Baptist for 70 years and she was the secretary and treasurer of the Parkway Baptist Church 1500 Tom J Hitch Pkwy, Columbia, TN 38401.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Cathy Watters of Columbia, TN and Larry Watters of Sumter, S.C.; four grandsons, Brandon Watters, Roscoe Watters and Jay Watters all of Columbia, TN, Mark Lisa Erwin of Tyler, TX; special friend, Andy Hudson of Sumter, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Josh and Heather Erwin of Tyler, TX.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Bobby Odell Watters; two sisters, Myrtle Clark and Bertha Duncan; five brothers, James Clark, Russell Clark, Willie Clark, Preston Clark and Thomas Clark.
Pallbearers will be deacons and men of the Parkway Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Porter Seale, J. Frank Walker, Virginia Beddfield, Jane Walker, Dr. Gibran Naddy and staff, Howard and Pauline Loudermilk, Jerry and Billy Kennedy.
