Larry Walter Farris, age 57, long time resident of Lynnville, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Larry will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Barry Farris officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Well Cemetery in Shady Grove with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Larry was born August 2, 1952 in Columbia and was the son of the late James H. Farris and Thelma Lee Slaughter Farris. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Larry had worked as a steel worker in construction and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include two sisters: Joyce Gerry Sanders of Lynnville and Patricia Robert Johnson of Columbia; a step-daughter: Donna Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant; step-grandchildren: John, Jennifer and Justin Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant; two nephews: Ken Carolyn Spahr and Jason McCain, both of Columbia; uncles and aunt: Clyde Sara Farris and Joe Linda Bell, both of Columbia; Ruth Tart of Falls Church, VA, Herbie Lynn Farris and Billy Carolyn Farris, both of VA.
Memorials may be made to the Old Well Cemetery, c/o Clyde Farris, 1204 WKRM Lane, Columbia, TN 38401.
Pallbearers will be Jason McCain, Richard Farris, Kent Bell, Randy Blackburn and Brandon Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Farris, Joe Bell, Bobby Copley, Kenneth Copley and Ken Spahr.
