Larry O'Neal Rountree

August 3, 1931 — September 13, 2003

Mr. Larry O?Neal Rountree, 72, a resident of Bellview Drive in Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Rountree will be conducted Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Reverend Eugene Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #10. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a masonic rites being recited at 7:00 p.m.

The Davidson County native was the son of the late Lloyd Elmer and Grace Mayes Rountree. He was the husband of the late Beatrice ?Aunt Bea? Workman Rountree. He was a former policeman for the Mt. Pleasant Police Department where he retired as dispatcher. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #610. He served our country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Leasure of Beavercreek, OH and Mary Jane ?Mark? King of Lewis County, TN; two sons, Larry O?Neal Tony Rountree, Jr. of Knoxville, TN and Larry Anthony Sheila Rountree of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a sister, Peggy Davis of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Jack Rountree of Mt. Pleasant, TN; seven grandchildren, Robin Leasure, Lindsay Rountree, and Kelli Rountree all of Knoxville, TN, Justin Rountree of Lenoir City, TN, Neal King of Lewis County, TN, Anna Rountree and T.J. Rountree both of Mt. Pleasant, TN.

Pallbearers will be Justin Rountree, T.J. Rountree, Neal King, Neal Rountree, Dennis Rountree, Tim Rountree, Butch Hickman, Howard Mangrum, and Raymond Workman. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present members of the Mt. Pleasant Police Department and Fire Department, members of Masonic Lodge #610, Shanty Roy, Allen Arnold, the staff of Pleasant Wood Apartments, and the staff of Hidden Acres Health Care.
