Larry Wayne Heflin, age 68, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee passed away on April 5, 2016 at his residence.
Larry was born on November 27, 1947 to Lillan V. Heflin in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was a quiet, non-boastful man and was never one to “blow his own horn”. His family remembers that his favorite activities were mowing grass and riding his Harley, doing both while wearing his Liberty overalls. He worked as a GM contractor for twenty-four years and also served as a Voith Unit Chairperson as a proud member of the UAW. Larry was a member, past Sunday school teacher and past song leader at Ebenezer Community Church in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
Mr. Heflin is survived by his loving wife whom he married on August 1, 2013: Rhonda Ford Heflin; children: Johnnie Heflin, Kimberly (Dennis) Whitten, Josh Heflin and Grace Ford; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jennie (Rudy) Rice, Patricia (Hank) Rumsey; brothers: Orman (Debi) McCord, Jr. and Tony (Vivian) McCord. He was preceded in death by his mother: Lillian Heflin McCord; son: Adam Heflin who passed away in 1989; his first wife: Barbara Heflin who passed away in 1995; and brother: Donnie Jones.
A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Heflin’s life will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Community Church in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Dickie Lindsey officiating. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
