Larry Joe Belew

Larry Joe “Harry Lulu” Belew, age 62, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
He lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and love. He will be remembered for his passion for fishing, hunting, swimming in the river, woodworking, cruising backroads with an ice-cold beer, and riding four-wheelers. Larry was a hard worker who spent most of his professional life at Pine Knoll Nursery.
His grandkids were the light of his life, and he was incredibly protective of them. He is survived by his wife, Mary Swafford, children Ashley Swafford, Alex Swafford, Brandon Swafford, Debra Swafford Smith, JC Swafford, Amanda Watson, Robert Swafford, Patrick Swafford, and William Swafford. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Ann Phann, Dolly Gray, Vance Hull, Billy Belew, Kenny Belew, James Hull, and Dutch Hull. He had many grandkids that he adored: Eli, Clayton, Jaxon, Viola, Connor, Preston, Alilla, Jonathan, Violet, Madison, Weston, Alexis, Sabrina, Katherine, Xavier, Arianna, Randall, Bethany, Sherry, Ilanda, Kayla, and Angela; and his special sidekick: Bullet.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Zeb Vance Hull and his mother Alice Williams Belew.
He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
The family will be receiving friends at Whispering Hills Church of Christ in Summertown on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. To follow, the funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, with Bro. Terry Potts officiating.
