Larry Albert Lovell

Larry Albert Lovell, age 69, a resident of the Kettle Mills Community in Hampshire, passed away on Monday, December 14, at his residence.

Funeral services for Larry will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in the Delk Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born on October 17, 1940 in Maury County, Larry was the son of the late George Lovell and Ruby King Lovell. He was the husband of Thelma Williams Lovell of Hampshire. Larry was a graduate of Hampshire High School and retired from the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He also retired from Sprint as a supervisor of communications. Larry was a lifetime member of the TN Miniature Horse Volunteers and was very active in showing and raising miniature horses. He loved fishing and hunting and spending time with his special grandchildren. Larry was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Thelma, include his children: Denise Rudy Lovell of Hampshire, Michelle Campbell of Huntsville, Al and Michael Lovell of Cincinnati, OH; one sister: Diane Lovell Alonzo Napier of KY; grandchildren: Ashley King of San Diego, CA, Misty Joseph Smiley of Montgomery, AL, Blake Lovell of Denver, CO and Amanda Lovell of Hampshire; sisters-in-law: Catherine Ledger of Milan, IN and Hazel Aubrey House of Belmont, OH, and a brother-in-law: Raymond Kathy Williams of Meridian, MS. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Anthony Lovell.

Pallbearers will be members of the U.S. Navy. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the TN Miniature Horse Volunteers, Ron and Joan Lovell, Jimmy Lovell, Jeff Lovell, Phil Lovell, Billy Lovell, Kevin White, Peggy Jo Patty, Rock Jaggers, Johnnie Jaggers, W.M. Jaggers and Michael King.
