Kevin Dalton

d. November 30, 2022

Kevin Dalton passed away on November 30, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center due to a long-term illness. He was surrounded by family in his last days.
Kevin was born and raised in Georgia by Wendell & Violet Dalton. He was one of 7 children including 4 sisters and 2 brothers. He moved to Tennessee in 1992 with his job at General Motors. After retiring in 2006 he went to college at Martin Methodist in Pulaski, Tennessee and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He went on to work as a case manager at Centerstone in Hohenwald, Tennessee.
Throughout the years he was an avid weightlifter and took pride in taking care of himself. During this time, he owned a gym in Hohenwald, Tennessee where he met his wife, Renee, whom he married in 2008. While in the hospital he told the nurses he “married up.” Kevin had a big sense of humor, always cutting up and joking around. Together, Kevin and Renee have a son; Lochlan, and a daughter; Keelan, as well as 2 children from previous marriages; Jaclyn Spann and Dalton Edwards.
His biggest hobby was tinkering with guns. He loved target practice and talking to anyone about them who would listen. His daughter, Jaclyn, always said his guns were his mistress. As his health declined Jaclyn and her husband, Matt, would take him to shoot and target practice. He taught Lochlan how to shoot and clean the guns afterward. Keelan was nicknamed “Peanut.” She could get anything she wanted from her Daddy. He loved spending time with his family often camping and hiking before his health began to fail. He took chicken sandwiches to his mother-in-law until one day she said, “I want a hamburger. I am over the chicken.” During his many stays at the hospital, he would cut up with the nurses. Several continued to keep up with him until the end.
Kevin is a member of The Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ in Columbia, Tennessee. One of his last wishes was for his children to stay in church.
Kevin is survived by his wife: Renee Dalton; Children: Jaclyn (Matt) Spann, Dalton (Kenzie) Edwards, Lochlan Dalton, and Keelan Dalton; and grandchildren: Sophia Brown, Killian Brown, Hutson Ridings, Ivy Spann, Avaleigh Edwards, and Jordan Spann. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Patricia Bales; and brother-in-law: Raymond Bales.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 2, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ at 2000 Williamsport Pike in Columbia, Tennessee. Services will begin immediately following visitation with Pastor Eric Redd officiating. Burial will follow at Springer Church of Christ Cemetery in Hohenwald.
