Kermit Abner

Mr. Kermit Abner, 89, a resident of Buena Vista Dr. in Columbia died Thursday, October 9, 2003 at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Abner will be conducted, Saturday October 11, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Greg Gwin officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Born in Randolph County, AL, he was the son of the late John Henry and Kythie Graben Abner and husband of Effie Abner. He was retired owner of Kermit Abner Construction Company and a member of College View Church of Christ. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jerry Sandra Abner of Franklin and Don Mary Ann Abner of Clarksville; a daughter, Sue Rick Harris of Columbia; four grandsons, Alan Diane Abner of Murfreesboro, Todd Kelli Abner of Franklin, Tim Molly Abner of Fairview and John Paul Pam Abner of Johnson City; three granddaughters, Dee Reese Bowen of Franklin, Donna Mike Sinks of Clarksville and Molly Harris of Columbia; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Mae John Maultsby of Pulaski and Lurene Ray Dutton of Bradenton, KY; a brother, Pascol Dot Abner of Sylcauga, AL; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Abner of Santa Fe. He was preceded in death by a son, David Abner. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of College View Church of Christ. Donations may be made to the College View Church of Christ.
