Mr. Kenny Eastep, age 43, of Long Beach, MS and former resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
Born June 26, 1967 in Columbia, TN, son of Carolyn Eastep of Mt. Pleasant and the late Wayne Eastep, who passed away December 2, 2009, and the husband of Tamara Parker Eastep of Long Beach, MS. He was a 1985 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High Scholl and attended Memphis State University. He was working as a truck driver for Fagan Trucking of Saucier, MS. Kenny was always aware of people in need and went to great measures to help them and he was a mentor for youth in the state, working through Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, MS. He attended Gulf Coast Worship Center in Long Beach.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Brandon Lane Eastep of Long Beach and Joshua Ben Dugger of Mt. Pleasant; siblings, Randy Tammy Eastep and Stan Pat Eastep, both of Mt. Pleasant, and Barry Melanie Eastep of Columbia; father and mother-in-law: Donald and Katherine Parker. He was preceded in death by a special child he mentored for 9 years, Lance Nonemacher.
Funeral services for Kenny will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 12, 2011, in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy McNeece officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Eastep, Jacob Eastep, Justin Eastep, Richard Pettus, Danny Henson, Donnie Attkison, Randal Pruitt and Jimmy Henson. Honorary pallbearers will be the 1985 graduate class of Mt. Pleasant High School.
