Kayla J. Hood

Kayla J. Hood, age 58, of Lawrenceburg, passed away on Friday, October 5, at her residence.

Kayla was born March 21, 1960, in Lawrenceburg the daughter of Sonny Duke and Carolyn Bonner Dorning. She was the wife of Ricky Hood of Lawrenceburg. Kayla was an esthetician and enjoyed refinishing furniture with her husband. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Kayla is survived by her husband, Ricky, of Lawrenceburg; one son, Ryan (Jyl) Mattox of Lawrenceburg; her parents, Carolyn (Ervin) Dorning and Sonny (Beverly) Duke, all of Lawrenceburg; one sister, Kim Pennington of Franklin; one brother, Kyle Duke of Lawrenceburg; two half-brothers, Chad Dorning of Lawrenceburg and Robert Duke of Florida; one half-sister, Beth Duke of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, who were the joys of her life, Luke Mattox, Hudson Mattox and Kate Mattox, all of Lawrenceburg.

A memorial service for Kayla will be held on Sunday, October 14, at 6:00 P.M. at the Mars Hill Baptist Church, 630 Weakley Creek Road, Lawrenceburg. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at 6:00 P.M.
