Katie Davis Mckennon

Mrs. Katie Davis McKennon, age 87, resident of Nashville, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Mrs. McKennon was born on February 13, 1924 in Maury County and was the daughter of the late Allen and Mary Alice Chapman Davis. She was the wife of the late Willard G. McKennon who preceded her in death on November 2, 1980. Katie was a retired housekeeper with Park View Hospital in Nashville after 10 years of service. She had also worked as a seamstress. She was a member of Charlotte Heights Church of Christ in Nashville.
She is survived by three sisters, Mildred Stokes of Nashville, Annie Bell Buchanan of Mt. Pleasant and Cora Faye Bennett of Summertown; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Elvin, Elbert, Cleveland and Clarence Davis and two sisters, Florence Workman and Margaret Christine Dolly Odom.
Funeral services for Mrs. McKennon will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Darryl Demondreum officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Wednesday and from 12 Noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
