Katie Ophelia Barker

Katie Ophelia Barker, age 80, passed away on April 15, 2013 at her residence in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.

Katie was born on March 18, 1933 to the late Marvin King, Sr. and the late Birdie Grant King in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. On November 20, 1950 she married Murry Barker who preceded her in death on November 26, 2011. She was a dedicated homemaker, loving wife and mother all the days of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Mrs. Barker is survived by her son: Jerry (Kathy) Barker; daughter: Patricia Ingram; grandchildren: Brent Barker, Jennifer Barker, Jill Thompson, Jason Barker, Adam Ingram and Ashley Riley; great-grandchildren: Jayden Riley and Kaylee Ingram; and her sister: Ada Bell Beckum. In addition to her parents and husband, Katie is preceded in death by her son: Danny Barker and 9 siblings.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Barker will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant with burial to follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Bro. Frank Webb will officiate. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, April 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Jimmy Barker, Brent Barker, Jason Barker, Adam Ingram and Jonathan Riley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Barker and Donald Barker.
