Kathryn Grimes

Kathryn King Grimes, age 92, long-time resident of the Mt. Joy Community, passed away on Friday, July 16th, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. Kathryn was born on October 20th, 1928 to the late Joe and Rosa King in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.

Kathryn was a long-time, faithful member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She got to know many members of her community by being a part of many activities and organizations over the years.

Kathryn was the loving matriarch and adored her family. She showed her love by cooking and baking. Not only did she know her way around the kitchen, but she was gifted with the talent of sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She will be so greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Ms. Kathryn will be on Sunday, July 18th at 1:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, TN. Pastor Mark King will be officiating. Private burial will follow.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her loving husband: Willard Bailey Grimes; daughter: Diane Bobo Stikeleather; and several brothers and sisters.
Kathryn is survived by her son: Billy (Janette) Grimes; grandchildren: Michael (Sharon) Bobo, Daniel (Rebecca) Bobo, Scott (Pam) Tilghman, Keith (Angie) Tilghman, Cody (Richard) Nichols; Great-grandchildren: Kristin Tilghman, Dalton Tilghman, Carter Tilghman, Stephen Tilghman, Bailey Nichols, Addison Nichols, Christian (Taylor) Bobo, Clayton Bobo, Carson Bobo, Kelsey Bobo, and Ashley Bobo (Adam) Thetford; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bailey Cemetery in care of Mt. Joy CP Church 8364 Mt. Joy Road, Mount Pleasant, TN 38474.
