Mrs. Kathleen Daniels Giles Davis, age 77, of Columbia and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday, December 05, 2016 at her residence.
Kathleen was born on November 10, 1939 in Maury County, Tennessee to Jesse Lee Daniels and Florence Chapman Daniels Wells. She was married to Norman Wayne Davis who preceded her in death on February 24, 2013. Kathleen was a woman with a strong work ethic and worked for several years at Publix Shirt Factory. Later she owned and operated a grocery store in Ethridge call Giles Grocery. She finally retired after eight years at the Rebel Pawn Shop in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
Kathleen was a very caring and giving person and loved doing for others. She was very close to her family and especially loved her granddaughters, nieces and nephews and was always game to join in any activity they were doing. She really enjoyed dancing.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her son: Stephen Paul (Candy) Giles of Lawrenceburg; step-sons: Stephen Wayne Davis and Michael Joe Davis, both of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughters: Makenna Marie Giles and Molly Reanna Giles of Lawrenceburg; siblings: Mary Alice Ingram, John Robert (Shirley) Daniels and Shirley Adams all of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jesse Lee Daniels and Florence Chapman Daniels Wells; husband: Norman Wayne Davis; siblings: J. C. Daniels, Clyde Smith Daniels and Carolyn Faye Dale.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bo Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, December 7 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Robbie Daniels, Johnny Daniels, Bobby Daniels, Wayne Ingram, Jeff Dale and Jimmy Daniels will serve as pallbearers. Kathleen’s other nieces and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
