Katherine Russell England

Mrs. Katherine Russell England, age 85, a long time resident of Jackson Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, March 21, at Hidden Acres Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services for Mrs. England will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Elmer Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Monday from 5:00 –8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Katherine was born on February 11, 1924 in Maury County to the late Ed and Annie Mae Brooks Cross. She was the wife of the late Gilbert Russell and was later married to the late John Bumpus England. She spent a number of years working in the housekeeping department of Maury Regional Hospital. Katherine gave all she had for her family, loving to cook large meals for them. She also enjoyed going to yard sales. Katherine was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children: Dianne Lynn Clark of Palm Beach, Fla., Ronnie 'Goat Head" Carla Russell of Mt. Pleasant and Sandra David Newton of Lexington, Ala.; one brother: Ed Edith Cross, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; a son-in-law: Tommy Nicholson of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Rodney Nicholson, Dax Russell, Gil Harbin, Kerri Harbin, and Trinity Clark; 8 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren: Shane Stocks, Shantel Wheeler and Juan Davila and 6 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Phyllis Nicholson and a granddaughter: Vickie Nicholson.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Nicholson, Dax Russell, Gil Harbin, Ricky Clark, David Roberts and Steve Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be employees and staff of Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
