Mrs. Katherine J. Henson, 82, resident of Hwy 438 West in Linden, passed away Saturday at her home.
Born August 25, 1929 in Lewis County, daughter of the late Joseph and Nancy McClain Grose and the wife of Hugh L. Henson of Linden. She was a homemaker who loved to bowl, knit, work crossword puzzles and read. She loved flowers of all kinds, hummingbirds and redbirds. Mrs. Henson was a member of the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Henson is survived by her children: Sandra J. Henson and Deborah L. Henson, both of New York City, NY, Patricia L. Henson of Memphis and Steven A. Henson of Linden; brothers: Herman Grose and Ferrell Grose, both of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Chris Johnson of Atlanta and Samantha Henson of Memphis; great grandchildren: Scarlett Johnson, Eaden Johnson, Ivory Johnson and Rylie Johnson. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Knox Grose, Glenn Grose, Aileen Brown, Bernice Matlock, Ferris Grose, Mary Grose and Edward Grose.
Funeral services for Mrs. Henson will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dwight Liles officiating. Burial will follow in the McClain Cemetery in Lewis County. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
