Katherine Onita Bridges, 83 years of age, passed away peacefully at her home on December 11, 2021. She was born on May 10, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant Tennessee to her parents, Cecil McKennon and Easter Edith Kennedy McKennon.
Onita enjoyed the many wonders that life had to offer. She enjoyed traveling, seeing the many sights. Onita always loved to challenge her mind with puzzles and card games. Above all else, she adored spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Clyde Thomas Bridges in 1991; father, Cecil McKennon who passed in 1958; mother: Easter Edith Kennedy McKennon in 1975; her oldest brother: Cecil Willie Nathan McKennon; older sisters: Margaret Hanvy, Dorothy Mangrum, Betty Pugh, Wilma Jones; younger sister: Nell Glass.
She is survived by her brother: Joe Morris “Bobby” McKennon; daughters: Pamela (Tommy) Collins, Patti (Dwayne) Carter; son: Michael (Amy) Bridges; grandchildren: Daniel (Barbara) Collins, Tiffany (Timothy) Williams, Audrey Collins; great-grandchildren: Isaiah Collins, Zack Williams, Emma Williams, Ilyssa Collins.
The family will be visiting with friends and family on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Matthew.
Pallbearers will be Joe McKennon, Edwin McKennon, Bob Stewart, Kevin Pugh, Tim Williams, and Daniel Collins.
