Karen “K.K.” Fields Brown, age 55, of Columbia, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness.
Karen was born on June 30, 1961 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to Bobby Gene and Charlotte Hardy Fields. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and a retiree of Tennessee Farm Bureau. Karen loved her family greatly. Her hobbies included spoiling her nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbia. She also enjoyed being outdoors. One of her passions was chocolate. Karen’s motto was, “you can have chocolate before the meal, after the meal or any other time of the day”!
Karen is survived by her siblings: Melanie (Donnie) Melton and Gene (Melanie) Fields; daughter: Chrissy (Rodney) Paul; grandchildren: Payton Paul and Alyssa Potts; nieces: Stephanie (Shane) Lancaster and Tabitha (Will) Brewer; nephews: Jeremy (Victoria) Pope and Chris Fields; great-nieces: Karly Lancaster, Emaley Pope, Kailey Pope, Kinsley Brewer and Hailey Brewer; great-nephews: Wyatt Lancaster, Will Pope, Hayden Pope and Chance Brewer; and special friends: DeeDee, Kristen and Tigger. She was preceded in death by her parents: Bobby Gene and Charlotte Hardy Fields.
Funeral services for Ms. Brown will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Rick Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Chris Fields, Will Pope, Jeremy Pope, Shane Lancaster, Jason Sloan and Keith Dixon will serve as pallbearers.
Karen was a childhood survivor of cancer who was treated at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In light of their service and great care of Karen, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s. Donations may be made at
