Justin "Jack" Lee Wilsford

Justin Lee “Jack” Wilsford, age 86, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at NHC Hillview in Columbia, Tennessee.

Jack was born December 23, 1928 in Columbia, Tennessee, the son of the late Justin Robert Lee Wilsford and Lula Mae Major Wilsford. He married Joan Clark in 1950 and she preceded him in death in December 2003.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 – 1947, the Army National Guard from 1948 – 1949, and then in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until his retirement in 1970. After his retirement, he worked for R. Kirk Construction, as a bus driver in the Maury County School System, and was a rural carrier with the United States Postal Service. Jack was a member of the Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Columbia where he was an elder and member of the Men’s and Women’s Fellowship. He was a member of Gideon’s International and of the Masonic Lodge in Columbia, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was passionate about his 120 acre farm in Culleoka, where he raised cattle and horses for forty-two years.

Survivors include his daughters, Jackie (Jeff) Halter of Columbia and Terri (Mike) Brundige of Martin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sara) Halter of Hamilton, New Jersey, Jennifer (Andy) Mahony of Yardley, Pennsylvania, Kenny (Amber) Brundige of Martin, Tennessee, Chris (PJ) Brundige of Martin, Tennessee, and Amy Beth (Trey) McNeil of Bowling Green, Kentucky; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Gilliam of Columbia, Tennessee and Sarah (Wendell) Sims of Lynnville, Tennessee and a brother, Jimmy (Kaye) Wilsford of Lenoir City, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Jack will be conducted Friday, July 10 at 11:00 A.M.at Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Rolman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Mount Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be Mike Brundige, Kenny Brundige, Chris Brundige, Jeff Halter, Jeffrey Halter, and Jack Mahony. Honorary pallbearers will be elders of the Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1620 Fountain Heights Road, Columbia, Tennessee.
