Julie A. Smith

April 17, 1958 — November 9, 2022

Julie A. Smith, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.
Julie was born on April 17, 1958 in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Joe Riggins and Clareen Ballard Riggins.
Julie was the most caring and selfless woman. She had a pure heart and was so simple and enjoyed the little things that life had to offer. Julie was an inspiration to her family with her generosity, love and dedication to them. She had so much love to give and her heart never ran out. Her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren. Even if they had just left, she would be asking her daughter when they were coming back. She enjoyed baking with them, making smores, and having regular board game nights with her family.
Julie also loved Christmas. She had knick knacks up year round and would even have the Christmas tree up all the time if she could. She was adamant about her Christmas hallmark movies too. Julie and her husband would sit down and watch their favorite ones together and they never missed a “Christmas in July” with the Hallmark Channel.
She was married to her husband and the love of her life, Chris, for 30 years. She enjoyed all the times they spent together, raising a family and trips to Pigeon Forge and Lake Winnie. Julie was a wonderful woman and she will be deeply missed by everyone.
Julie is preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Clareen Riggins; and father-in-law: Billy Joe Smith.
Those left to cherish the memories of Julie are her husband: Chris Smith; children: Marvin Haywood, Tracy (Ben) Kittrell, and Megan Smith; grandchildren: Audrey and Bentley Kittrell; sisters: Margo (Darrell) Brenyas, Karen Riggins, and Lisa (Greg) Cundiff; mother-in-law: Sandra Smith; sisters-in-law: Tracy (Brian) Goldsmith and Sandie (Danny) Bennett; her precious furbaby: Bella; and a host of nieces and nephews.
