Judy Cates

Judy Cates, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 13, 2023, family in Columbia, Tennessee. She was born on November 28, 1956, in Franklin, TN. Judy's vibrant spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Judy had a great sense of humor that could light up a room. Her strong will and big personality were evident in every aspect of her life. She had a special way of bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Judy was a woman who always put her family first; they were the center of her world.

In addition to her loving husband Eddie Cates, Judy is survived by her daughters Crystal Metcalf and Daisy Bowman and sons: Willard Cates, Charles Cates, and James Cates. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent with them. They brought immense happiness into her life.

Judy had a variety of hobbies and interests that she engaged in passionately. She enjoyed working on puzzles, coloring books, reading, and word searches. These activities provided her with relaxation and excitement. Judy found solace in these simple pleasures.

Judy's parents G.H. and Geneva Dunnivant preceded her in death along with her siblings J.W., Larry, Kenny, Pat, and Linda Dunnivant. The loss of their presence is deeply mourned by the entire family. In addition to them, Judy's son Giles Henry also preceded her in death.

A service for Judy will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Brandon Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to the start of the service on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Judy will be laid to rest at Pisgah Cemetery in Hampshire, Tennessee.
