Judith “Judy” Ann Bell Shelton of Columbia, Tennessee passed on September 21, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.
Judy was born on October 2, 1957 in Franklin County, Tennessee to the late William Rufus Bell and Dorothy “Southern” Floyd. She was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a cook for 20 years, first at Heritage Manor and then Rosewood Manor. She retired to take care of her grandbabies who all call her “Mimi.” She was a loving wife and person, who never met a stranger. Judy cooked for everyone, it was her way of taking care of them. Her door was always open whether it be family, her children’s friends, or a stranger in need. She enjoyed shopping, especially when she found a good bargain, just to give to someone else. Judy loved her dog, Molly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years: Charlie Shelton, Sr.; son: Charles Shelton, Jr.; daughter: Nicky McClain; daughter: Laura (Mondray) Matthews, all of Columbia, Tennessee; grandchildren, her babies: K.D. (Summer Kelley) McClain, Julianna Smalley, Michael Matthews, Aaron Smalley, Luke McClain, Adrian Matthews, Lucille Shelton, Brielle Matthews, and Mary Jo Shelton; great-grandchild: Isabel Kelley; kids she loved as her own: Matthew McClain, Bobby Howell, and Melissa Sizemore; siblings: Barbara (Steve) Traylor, Nellie Teal, Danny Martin, Charles (Annie) Martin, Jr., and Bonnie Jean Epps; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Libby Bell Ferrell, and stepfather: Kenneth Floyd.
Services will be Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home, Columbia at 2:00 PM. Family will visit with friends from 11:00 AM until time of service.
