Mrs. Juanita Marcel Rawdon Davis, 74, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, March 3, 2006, at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be conducted Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor J.C. Christian and Pastor Frank Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Summertown Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Born in Tyronza, AR, she was the daughter of the late Carl Gilbert ?Charlie? and Gertrude Griffin Rawdon. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Walter Davis. She grew up in Lawrence County and attended Summertown High School. In the late 1950?s, she moved to Ft. Wayne, IN and remained there until her return to Middle TN in October of 2000.

Mrs. Davis was a professional secretary and buyer with Food Marketing Corporation for 13 years. In 1971, she opened the Ft. Wayne Secretarial Service, which she owned and operated for 27 years. With training in psychology, business behavior, personality training for business and the art of conversation, she taught charm and modeling classes to young women entering the business world. Her motto was, ?If you haven?t got it, you can get it?. She was a member of the International Toastmistress Club, a charter member of the Ft. Wayne Toastmistress Club, who selected her as Woman of Influence in 1976, a charter member of the American Business Women?s Association Limberlost Chapter, where she was chosen Woman of the Year in 1975. She was also a member of the Indiana Vocational Technical College Occupational Advisory Committee for Secretarial Technology from 1973-1977 and a member of the Social League of Interested Women Speakers Association-Division of Executive Services, with her focus of speechmaking.

She is survived by four sisters, Annie Lou Spears of Cornersville, Irene and beloved brother-in-law, Jimmy Dugger of Mt. Pleasant, Joyce Rawdon Cardwell of Summertown and Mary Tanner of Tallahassee, FL; three nieces, Cathy Michael Knapp of Emporia, KS, Sheri Hardison of Mt. Pleasant and Carol Kelsey of Cornersville; two nephews, Everett Rhonda Spears and Michael Toyce Spears, both of Summertown; great nieces, nephews and cousins all over AL., AR. and TN.

Pallbearers will be Everett Spears, Michael Spears, William Toungett, Larry Davis, Hilliard Jett, Leroy Voss, Glynn Newell, and Wendell O?Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. J. Cummins Couch, Dr. Howard Kirschner, Robert and Martha Hull, Betty Wren, Jimmy Dugger, Bill Dunn and Sue Ayers.

The family would like to acknowledge Juanita?s very dear friends, Eldon Collins and his sons of Ft. Wayne IN., Lee and Joyce Anderson of New Haven, IN and Betty Davis Rutledge of Etheridge. They would also like to thank the staff of Hidden Acres Nursing Home and CARIS Health Care for the compassion they showed to Mrs. Davis.
