Margaret Joy Duncan Park, age 83, of Summertown, Tennessee, passed away on October 19, 2017 at her residence.
Joy was born on November 14, 1933 to Byrum and Virginia Brunson Duncan in Maury County, Tennessee. She was a bookkeeper and an accountant for Smith Construction.
She was a beautiful bright light of a woman, truly living up to her name Joy. She inspired those around her with her strong will and tenacity. There was nothing she couldn't do. She unconditionally loved everyone, especially those going through their lows in life. She was fun loving and full of life. Never meeting a stranger, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Joy is survived by her daughters: Kathi (Mike) Park Payne, Allison King, Tomi (Tim) Smith; father of her children: Wayne Park; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grand children; siblings: Douglas (Doreen) Duncan and Nancy (Jimmy) Dooley; and sisters-in-law; Mary Duncan, Linda Duncan, and Linda Duncan. Joy is preceded in death by her son: Keith Landers Park; and her siblings: Gerald Duncan, Frank Duncan, Carole Allmon, and Bernard "Bunt" Duncan.
The family will celebrate Joy's life Tuesday October 24, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN.
