Josue (Joe) Samuel Barocio, age 81, passed away on March 3, 2020, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Joe was born March 15, 1938, to the late Alcides Barocio Guajardo and Josefina Garcia Barocio in Mexico City, Mexico. Joe married the love of his life Sue Lott May 17, 1957. Joe served the United States for 4 years in the Marines. After getting his associate's degree in Industrial Technology and Computer Science, he began working as a program manager at Teledyne, where he retired in 2003. In 2005 he started working for the Red Cross in Marshall County and traveled throughout Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Florida. He began riding bicycles at the age of 70 and became an avid cycler. He will be remembered for his giving heart for helping others in need whether it be mowing yards, fixing computers or teaching computer skills. He was a hard-working family man, wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Sue Barocio; daughter: Belinda Sue Barocio Maxedon of Columbia; granddaughters: Miranda (Austin) Maxedon Pope of Columbia, and Traci Leanne Maxedon Whiteside; great-granddaughter: Kinsley Nicole Dye and great-grandson: Samuel Knox Dye; sisters-in-law: Ofelia Barocio and Laura Barocio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister: Eunice Barocio; brothers: Tomas Barocio, Omar Barocio, and David Barocio; brother-in-law: Rev. Vahac Mardirosian; and sister-in-law: Carolyn Barocio.
There will be a Memorial Visitation on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Williams Funeral Home, Columbia from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
