Joseph R. Baron

Mr. Joseph R. Baron, 57, a resident of Belleville, Michigan, and a longtime resident of Columbia passed away Sunday, September 14 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit Michigan.

Funeral services for Mr. Baron will be conducted 6:00 P.M. Thursday, September 18, in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Bob Vassar officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at a later date.

The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00P.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Baron was born in Quebec , Canada and was the son of the late Alphonse Baron and Gisele Lelievre Baron. He was a graduate of Beecher High School in Flint, Michigan. Mr. Baron retired from Saturn in 2002 and was employed with General Motors for 30 years. He was one of the first 300 that was hired with Saturn to help set up the Deck Lid Lines and also a member of the UAW in Spring Hill. He served our country in the United States Army and was a member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children: Joseph James Stephannie Baron of Spring Hill, TN, David Arthur Baron and Nic Grassel of Clarksville, TN and Sarah Irene Morton and fiancee, Joe Hunt of Columbia; mother of his children: Mary Baron of Columbia, TN; and his grandchildren: Courtney, Hannah , Lane , Kellsye and Landon; one brother: Mike Baron of Biloxi, MS and one sister: Carole Frank Tortora of Bellville, MI.
