Johnnie Milton "Milt" Simmons

Mrs. Johnnie Milton "Milt" Simmons was born November 11, 1916 in Mt. Pleasant. She was the daughter of the late William "Bud" Crews and Pansy Hudson Crews. Her husband, Robert Lee "Chick" Simmons preceded her in death in 1985.

Milt graduated from Hay Long High School in Mt. Pleasant. She was a homemaker and had worked for Arrow Mines/Mobil Chemical Company in Mt. Pleasant. Milt was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Margaret Simmons of Columbia; granddaughter: Lacey Al White of Albertville, AL and great-grandchildren: Lee Allen White and Luke Samuel White, both of Albertville. In addition to her parents, and husband, Milt was preceded in death by her son, Robert H. Simmons; three sisters, Margaret England, Octavia Henson and Pansy Fuller; a brother, Thomas Crews, Jr. and grandson, Robert Lee Simmons.

Graveside services for Mrs. Simmons will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Frank Webb officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 3:00 6:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
