John Willis Robertson

Mr. John Willis "J.W." Robertson, age 87, resident of the Campbellsville Road in the Lynnville Community, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Robertson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Entombment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born April 8, 1923 in Dickson County, he was the son of the late Esther and Bertha Lewis Robertson. He was the husband of Viola Kirkpatrick Robertson of the Lynnville Community. He was a retired relief person from Ford Motor Company in Wayne, Michigan. He enjoyed raising pit and English bull dogs. In his early life he enjoyed hunting. He was a veteran having served in the Army. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Donald Robertson, Sr. of Michigan; four sisters, Ophelia Newkirk of Nashville, Lorene Coleman of Dickson, Clella Hayes of Vanlier and Estelle Robertson of Tennessee; two grandsons, Donald "Don" Robertson, III of Lynnville and Ronald Robertson of Michigan; three granddaughters, Michelle Robertson and Erin Perkins both from Michigan and Stacy Headrick of Columbia; and two great-granddaughter, Samantha Robertson and Hailey Perkins both of Michigan. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Robertson, Jr. a sister, Opal Walker and two brothers, H.O. Robertson and George Robertson.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
