Mr. J. D. Lindsey, 80, passed away Monday at his residence on West Sheepneck Road in the Sandy Hook Community.
Funeral services for Mr. Lindsey will be conducted Wednesday December 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post # 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 9 :00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late John D. Lindsey, Sr. and Ida Cocke Lindsey.He was the husband of Estalene Pierce Lindsey .Mr. Lindsey was a retired employee of Industrial Products and worked for Industrial Contractors. He served in the United States Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Doug Barbara Lindsey of Summertown, Rickey Sue Lindsey of Columbia, TN and Phyllis Jr. Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, TN; Grandchildren, Angie Lindsey of Columbia, TN, Beth Donald Brumit of Santa Fe, TN, John Sheila Lindsey and, Adam Emily Lindsey both of Summertown, TN, Jill Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Wayne Sara Lindsey and Alan Meg Lindsey both of Columbia, TN,; great-grandchildren, Emma Brumit and Abby Brumit both of Santa Fe, TN and Juliann Lindsey of Summertown, TN; three sisters, Lura Fitzgerald of Columbia, TN , Pauline Anderson of Ohio and Ann Brown of Lewisburg, TN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Dick Lindsey; two sisters, Jean Winn and Mary Ellen Gibson.
Pallbearers will be John Lindsey, Wayne Lindsey, Alan Lindsey, Adam Lindsey, Bill Workman and David Lindsey.
