John “Allen” Jones, age 95, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, March 29th, at The Bridge, (Assistant Living) in Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ann (Phillips) Jones.
Private graveside services will be held at Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbia. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for other family members and friends to attend.
Born on July 23, 1924, in Hardeman County, Allen was the son of the late Dan Jones and Elma Rebecca (Porter) Jones. Allen was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. He was one of the founding members of the Tennessee Farmers Mutual Insurance Company in West Tennessee and Columbia, where he retired. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, Columbia. Allen loved gardening, fishing, woodworking and raising cattle. Above all, Allen loved his family and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children: Charles (Beth, deceased) Middlesboro, KY, Patricia Landry (Ed), Robertsdale, AL, and Becky Gahr (Dan), Fredericksburg, VA.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Also, sincere thanks to Linda, Pat, Bonnie, and others who provided companionship; Caris Healthcare (Hospice); and staff at The Bridge at Columbia.
