Mr. John Frank "Johnnie" Blue, III , 54, formerly of Columbia, died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at his residence in Hermanville, Mississippi.
Funeral services for Mr. Blue will be conducted Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Collins and Reverend Ed Haag officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post # 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of Mary Tucker Blue of Columbia and the late John Frank Blue, Jr. He was a industrial technician for Dow Chemical Company out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a member of the Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War having received the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service, and the Good Conduct Medal.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Merry Beth Blue and Cathryn Blue both Vicksburg, MS; a sister, Faye Ed Haag of Smith Station, AL.
Pallbearers will be Jon Haag, Micah Tucker, John Ruck, Phillip Burns, Larry Mercks, Pat Tucker, Marvin Newell, Glynn Newell, and Alan Psota. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Rogers and Norman Hardison, Jr.
