John Ray Earls Sr.

John Ray Earls Sr., age 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015.

John was born on August 27, 1939 to the late Carl Earls and Sally Perry Earls. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and especially his Lord. John was an avid golfer. He always greeted everyone with a smile and a handshake. John was a giving man with a positive outlook on life. John was a loving father, amazing grandfather, and great provider. John was a member at Grace Church of the Nazarene.

The family will visit with friends on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Lindstrom and Rev. Gene Shelton. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

John is survived by his wife Lena Boots Earls of Columbia, Tennessee; daughters Kym (Timmy) Earls Bailes of Columbia, Tennessee and Kris (Tim) Earls-Fender of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee; grandchildren Zachary Earls-Fender, Ian Earls Bailes, Austyn Earls-Fender, Spencer Earls Bailes, Maddie Earls Prewitt, Jaynie Earls Prewitt, Hunter Earls-Fender, and Lena Earls Prewitt; brother Bill (Jean) Earls; sister Brenda Bowling; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Sally Earls; son Dr. John R. Earls Jr.; brother Doug Earls; and sister Loretta Asbury.

Pallbearers will be John’s family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are members of Grace Church of the Nazarene; Bob Millers “Small Group” at Grace; and the Joy Group at Grace.

The family would like to thank Maury Regional Cancer Center, Maury Regional Medical Center, St. Thomas Hospital, and NHC Hillview for the wonderful care given to John.
