Mr. John D. Poole, age 76, a resident of the Nashville Highway in Columbia, passed away on Sunday, November 9, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Graveside services for Mr. Poole will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the chapel mausoleum at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Homer D. Kelley and Rev. J.D. Brooks officiating.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 -8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Fayetteville, TN, native was the son of the late Bobby Dwyer Poole and Mary Sophonie Broderick Poole. He was the husband of Laura Williams Poole of Columbia. Mr. Poole was retired from the U.S. Navy as a BMC and was also the general manager of a Honda dealership in Charleston, SC. He was a member of the Lasea Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: David Dwyer Poole of Summerville, SC and Suzanne John Ray, Jr. Coley of Concord, NC; grandchildren: Elizabeth McConnell and Alex McConnell, both of Concord, NC. Johnathan Poole and Brady Poole of Summerville, SC and Jonathan Brice Coley of Ft. Lewis, Seattle, WA; brothers: Oscar Poole of Fayetteville and Joe Edward Poole of LaVergne; sisters: Ruth Edmonds of Goodlettsville, Magdalene Beady of Nashville, Linda Barnes of Goodlettsville and Faye Pirtle of Hendersonvile. He was preceded in death by one brother: Nolan Poole and one sister: Helen Ventress.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
