Mr. John Curtis Dowdy, 39, resident of Sunnyside Drive, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Graveside services for Mr. Dowdy will be conducted Friday, October 18, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Curtis Flowers officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home.
The Centre, Alabama native was the son of Curtis Ray and Wynona Smith Dowdy. He was a former auto salesman in the Columbia area and a member of the Highland Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters, Lisa Todd Fitzgerald of Columbia and Denise Hamilton of Clarksville; two nieces, Courtney and Kalee Fitzgerald; two nephews, Jack Fitzgerald and Jayson Hamilton; paternal grandmother, Mavis Dowdy of Colmbia; aunt, Rochelle Higgins of Pensacola, FL and uncle, Mark Smith of Atlanta, GA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Jett, Scott Jett, Keith Flowers, Jim Carrigan, Todd Fitzgerald and Bobby Thurman. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Simmons and Dr. Michael Hill.
