John Anthony Rosario

April 9, 1932 — February 26, 2012

Mr. John Anthony Rosario was born on April 9, 1932 in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico to the late Nicholas and Vincenta Machado Rosario. After his family immigrated to America when he was three years old, he was raised in Manhattan, New York in the area known as Hell's Kitchen. John joined the Army when he was 17 and served honorably. He was proud of the fact that he had served his country well and later became a member of the American Legion.
John was very happily married to Elizabeth Davis Rosario, who passed away on June 7, 2011 after John lovingly cared for her through an extended illness. His family recounts that they were a very cute "in love" couple.
Mr. Rosario was a contractor by trade, who loved to build and design things, even holding a patent on one of his inventions. Earlier in his life, he tried his hand at several different careers. At one time he worked at a gold mine in Nevada.
John Anthony Rosario passed away on February 26, 2012 and is survived by his daughter Mimi Troy Schmid and their children: Mike, Sara, Matt, Seth, Tim, Sam and Tomy; his son Nick Heather Rosario and their children: Jesse, Braydan, Jamon, Reagan, and Rihan; special nephew Chris Dodson and his children Jacob and Christian; grandsons: Dominique Carey Rosario and his daughter Isabell, Chaz Rosario, Calvin Rosario; granddaughter: Jessica Rosario; grandson Dan Kohn; granddaughter: Nicole Kohn; son: Tony Rosario and daughter: Tina Rosario.
True to his giving and helpful nature, Mr. Rosario donated his body to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for research that will hopefully help others. Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with the arrangements and the family will hold a private family memorial service at a later date.
