Mr. Joe M. Curtis, 78 , a resident of Florida Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at NHC/ Hillview Health Care.
Funeral services for Mr. Curtis will be conducted Friday, November 18, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Telford Tharp and Reverend Jason Kiser officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Robert Wiley and Maude E. Wood Curtis. He was a former employee of Anderson Brothers and Foster. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church and was known by many as ?the man who loved to talk?. Mr. Curtis served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Tharp Curtis of Mt. Pleasant, TN. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Levoid Curtis, Maynard Curtis, Bobby Curtis and J.W. Curtis; two sisters, Clara Brawner and Ada Warren; a half sister, Gladys Harlow.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Warren, Arthur Lawson, Jim Mullins, Bob Nagy, Ronnie Boshers, James Anderson, Marrell Runner, and Michael Tharp. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the First United Pentecostal Church.
