Mr. Joe L. Chunn, age 56, a resident of Louise Street in Columbia, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2007, at his residence.
A Memorial service for Mr. Chunn will be conducted Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend David Graves officiating. Inurnment will be in the Hardison Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of Opal Springer Ward of Lexington, AL and the late Rucker Chunn and the husband of Donna J. Chunn. He was a retired forklift operator at Premier. Mr. Chunn was a employee of the Maury County Sheriff's Department for twelve years, he was a Deputy, Patrol Sargent and Sargent over Vice Narcotics. He was a professional wrestler for fifteen years and was of Baptist Faith.
He is survived by two sons: Timothy Lee Chunn of Hohenwald, Anthony Joe Chunn of Mt. Pleasant; step-children, Cory Allen Dedman, Derek Michael Dedman and Cortney Layne all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Jessica Chunn, Heather Chunn, Zachary Chunn and Leah Chunn all of Mt. Pleasant, Chelsie Chunn of Hohenwald, Brennan Runions of Mt. Pleasant and Tyler Glass; a brother, Dsnny Chunn of WI. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Rita Renee Chunn; one sister: Kathy Sue Chunn Spencer; one brother: Phillip Hillman Chunn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Toby Miller, Ronnie Glass, Michael Lane Chunn and employees of the Maury County Sheriff?s Department.
