Joe Elvin Brown

July 21, 1935 — January 21, 2006

Mr. Joe Elvin Brown, 70, a resident of Gardendale Drive in Columbia, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2006 at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted Tuesday January 24, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:30 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Maury county native was the son of the late Will and Mary Lindsey Brown and husband of Dorothy Dot Brumit Brown for fifty one years. Mr. Brown was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and an avid fisherman, member of the Men?s Bowling League and Maury County Coon Hunters Club. He was a retired supervisor for Occidental Chemical Company.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Lynn Bradley of Columbia, Joe Vee Brown of Vandalia, Ohio, Beverly Moore of Columbia, TN; eight grandchildren, Kim Steve Brady of Culleoka, TN, Keith Jamie Bradley of Columbia, TN, Kerry Bradley of Mountain City, Brittany Malugin of Rhode Island, Brandon Paul Gibson of Columbia, TN, Jarrett Brown, Haylee Moore and Lindsay Brown; four great-grandchildren, Mallory Brady, K.J. Bradley, Cayla Bennett and Madelyn Mattie Brady. Sisters, Rachel Scott, Mildred Davis, Ruth Finley of Nashville, TN and Alice Staggs of Columbia, TN; a brother, Lester Brown of Mt. Pleasant, TN; numerous nieces , nephews and a family dog ?Patches?.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia ?Patty? Brown Arnold.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Whitson, Barry Davis, Steve Brady, Jack Brumit, Michael T. Arnold, Andy Brumit, Jimmy Eaves.

Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Davis, Bill Reed, Monroe Adkisson, Tom Brumit, Roy Ballard and retirees from Occidental Chemical Company.
