Mr. Joe Bradley, age 88, of S. Main Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday, December 31, at NHC Hillview.
Joe was born September 3, 1924 in Trenton, TN, the son of the late Ernest Bradley and Janie Brewer Bradley. He was the husband of the late Sara Elizabeth Frizzell Bradley who preceded him in death in 2002. Joe was a conductor with the L & N Railroad and a member of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ. He had served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include one son, James E. (Sandy) Bradley of Florence, SC, one daughter, Diane Bradley Andrews of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren, Jason (C.J.) Andrews and Sara (Tyler) Borne; 2 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katie (Milton) Craig and Kitty Woods. In addition to his parents and wife, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Bradley.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 3, at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jason Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. Members of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 will provide military honors.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Andrews, Tyler Borne, Danny Woods, Gaylon Woods, Terry Kelley and Eddie Bassham.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
